Renovating 2-BHK Interior for Mr. and Mrs. Das: A Story that Starts from the Middle
For interior designers, if whole-house interior design, starting from scratch is one favourite task, interior renovation is another. In fact, sometimes, renovation comes up as a more challenging and interesting task to do than complete interior design.
That’s the story of our recent project, renovating a 2 BHK interior in Rajarhat. It is the house of our respected client Mr. Das and his family. The interior was already designed to some extent in this new flat. We touched it up a little bit with our creative approach.
The beauty, convenience, and functionality of the space were enhanced with our ideas in this house. In this article, we will talk about how we did it. So, are you ready to embark on an interesting tour of a 2-BHK interior? Let’s go!
How It All Started: The Beginning
Unlike many of our projects, we didn’t get a chance to decorate every corner of the home. Instead, the home already had a few things. We had to adjust the overall design according to the existing items.
The hall room comprised a false ceiling, electricals, partitions, a TV unit, etc. On the other hand, bedrooms had existing beds and other items. We planned to place and modify the existing items as required. Moreover, we thought about how we could add more to the designs, keeping everything under our client’s budget.
With our innovative ideas, we came up with certain additions to that place, like a shoe unit, a designer mandir zone, etc. Also, we have created a new look for the whole interior with a few gentle touches. Overall, the look became an exceptional one.
How is the Living Room
Let’s begin with the place that witnesses all our gatherings, parties and meet-ups. It’s the living room of the house.
You can see a glimpse of the overall living room. We caught this view from the balcony. Anyways, there was already a sofa and a TV unit. Two semi-transparent partitions separated the living room and another part of the home.
That part includes a beautiful dining zone. The partitions come with gleaming spotlights so that if you keep a prop, you can highlight them with the lights.
A close-up view of the stunning center table! The floral decoration and unique cover make the table beautiful. The table, with its excellent look, enhances the aura of the whole living room. Undoubtedly, the table is a great addition to the whole interior.
The living room is presented here from another side! Here, an interesting thing has happened! There was a pillar on the wall behind the sofa. It looked so odd as it was very small and located at the side of the wall.
So, to adjust the issue, we created a broad panel covering the pillar. And then, we placed the sofa at the centre of that panel. Now, it can barely be recognised as a pillar. A gorgeous 3D artwork is placed on the wall.
You can see the same wallpaper in one of the bedrooms. This image also shows how spotlights are added at the bottom of the semi-transparent partitions.
Look at the living room from another angle. This image highlights the dining table, the mirror blocks on the wall, semi-transparent partitions, and the sofa set. From this angle, you can also enjoy the interesting view of the balcony of the house.
How the Bedroom Looks
As we mentioned, the bed was already there. We modified the whole look with it. We created this wardrobe to align the look with our overall design idea. If you look closely, you can see a little different setting at the side of the wardrobe.
Since there was no room for a side table beside the bed, we created it. We designed that portion of the wardrobe in such a way that it can be used as a side table. A switchboard is also installed near the specific section of the wardrobe to ensure convenience.
We added a 3D wallpaper to the wall with some overhead lights attached to the extended part of the wardrobe. The overall elegant, bright interior can mesmerise you at any time, especially at night.
A complete view of the bedroom with all its overhead wardrobes, gorgeous 3D wallpaper and beautiful bed set-up. From the colour to the style and design, everything looks one-of-its-kind here in this room.
Amazing Dining Zone
The dining table was already existing. We placed it in a way that it looks more pleasant and radiates a gentle vibe. A wonderful mirror is placed on the wall. It was bought through IKEA, one of the notable furniture stores in India.
Attractive and Functional Work-from-Home Area
From the details shown in the image, you can see that it is a study unit. Or, you can consider it as a work-from-home set-up. The furniture pieces, including the sofa, were already present there. What we did was paint the whole room and install the electrical set-up.
As it is a workplace, we managed the electrical plug-ins and sockets accordingly. The sofa-cum-bed ensures better comfort here.
How does Another Bedroom Look?
This is another bedroom where we designed the bed, keeping the needs of the homeowners in mind. The contrast of dark-coloured curtains and bi-coloured walls adds a pleasant appeal to the room. A special mandir zone can also be seen, which we will talk about later. From this image, you can enjoy the amazing jali-style design at the door of the mandir.
The Blissful Mandir Unit
A three-shelve mandir zone is here. As there is no room to place a separate mandir, we designed this unique, small, yet divine mandir zone. There is also a useful storage space attached at the lower part of the mandir zone. A tray is attached to the mandir area, which can be pushed inward and pulled outward as required.
Smart and Classic TV Unit
The TV unit was already there. Anyways, we modified it with some additions. The unit now looks like an elaborate set-up with many storage spaces and decorative designs. On the one hand, it includes a desk where the owners keep some precious photos. Some drawers and covered storage areas are there to make the place more convenient.
On the other hand, some open shelves and storage are also available under the TV corner. A decorative indoor plant with patterns on the wall makes the area more refreshing and rejuvenating. To illuminate the area, some spotlights are also added to the place.
Shoe Unit and Outside
At the outside of the flat, we have placed a functional and beautiful shoe unit. You can sit here and wear your shoes comfortably. Some indoor plants, placed near the door, create a refreshing environment.
Before You Go
In many cases, homeowners do not want to dispose of all existing design items and furniture for the sake of new design. Naturally, it is not justified to remove everything even when they are in good condition. We understand the point. Therefore, we are here with efficient renovation service like the one we did at the house of the respected Das family in Rajarhat.
